Spin a noun and write adjectives! This is a great game to help students learn, practice and solidify their knowledge of nouns and adjectives.

Two Magnetic Spinners
You’ll need two magnetic spinners* to play.

Draw two circles on the board. The left circle should be divided into 8 or 16 sections.
Ask the children to give you nouns to write in the first circle.
Number the second circle 2-9 or 1-4. This number represents the number of adjectives that children have to write to describe the noun.
NOW TO PLAY!
For smaller groups (up to 8) I divide the board into 4 sections. A pair is assigned to each section.
For larger groups, I divide the group into pairs. I give each pair a small white board, dry erase marker and a sock to serve as an eraser. You can purchase a class pack on Amazon*.
Choose a pair of students to spin the two wheels.
One partner in each pair takes a turn writing a list of adjectives that describe the noun. For example, if a child spins clown and 5, their board might look like this:
Continue play until each pair of students has had a chance to spin or your allotted time runs out!
